Our 2019 Captain signs off in his own way!

    Information
    23rd February, 2020

And now, the end is here.

And so I send this final e-mail,

My friends, I’ll say it clear,

I’ll say my thanks of which I’m certain.

I’ve had a year that’s been such fun,

I’ve travelled each and every fairway,

But more, much more than that,

    I did it my way!

Bad shots, I’ve had a few,

But then again, too many to mention,

I did what I had to do,

And saw it through without exception.

    I planned each 9 & Dine,

Each Gourmet Night and social diary,

And more, much more than that,

    I did it my way!

    Yes there were

  • Helen Morrison

    Information
    7th February, 2020

Once again I'm sorry to be writing about the sad passing of one of our members, Helen Morrison.

Helen passed away a few weeks ago aged 86 and since moving away from the Club a number of years ago had resided in Kent.

Helen joined the club in 1979 and remained an active member across all aspects of the Club for many years and I well remember serving with her on the House Committee where her high standards kept us all on our toes to keep the Clubhouse looking as good as it possibly could.

    Although we have not

  • Tom Monaghan - Mr Hendon

    Information
    23rd January, 2020

It is with great sadness that I have to inform members and friends of Hendon Golf Club of the passing of “Mr Hendon”, Tom Monaghan who passed away peacefully yesterday  morning (22nd January) in Ireland having travelled there over New Year to be with his family.

Tom was synonymous with everything good about Hendon Golf Club. He was the standard setter and the standard bearer, being the epitome of a good member, supporting many social functions, was a great Captain in 1987 and an outstanding Chairman between

  • Bill Fox

    Information
    16th January, 2020

Once again I am sorry to have to inform members and friends of Hendon Golf Club  of the passing of one of our old members, Bill Fox.

Bill joined the club in 1975 and was Club Captain in 1989/1990. An outstanding golfer in his day, when I believe he played off a handicap of three, he and his wife Ann (also a past Ladies' Captain) were huge supporters of the Club.

Bill was one of the first people I played golf with when I joined the Club and we became firm friends over the years, playing many games together and

  • David Pirie

    Information
    10th January, 2020

It is with sorrow that I write to inform you of the passing of one of our old members, David Pirie.

David joined the Club in 1973 and was a member for over 45 years. Originally from Glasgow he was the most dour of Scots but had a very dry sense of humour and was a master of the one line amusing comment.

David was also a remarkable golfer and apparently is the only person to win both the High Handicaps Competition and the Club Championship!. He could hit a ball a mile and I certainly saw him drive the 15th green
